Issue:
On MS Windows, if the Designer, Admin client, and the Notes client are all open, and the Notes client is closed. When the Notes client is opened by the client bookmark bar shortcut or the desktop/start menu icon, there is a chance that the right sidebar will display the Workspace Logs (that show up in Designer's tasks windows). It cannot be closed. There is no view --> Workspace Logs option.
Restarting the Notes client, may or may not clear the problem.
Workaround:
1. Close the HCL Notes, Domino Admin, and Domino Designer clients.
2. Delete the workspace folder in the ...\Notes\Data folder. The Notes client will automatically re-create the folder and the default settings. This will reset various client preferences back to defaults which may or may not be desired.
Workaround 2:
1. Close the HCL Notes, Domino Admin, and Domino Designer clients.
2. Clear the persistent/current state of the Notes (Eclipse) GUI w/o removal of all the custom Eclipse workspace settings:
- a. Open CMD prompt from Start menu.
- b. Enter the following commands, update the path to your Notes clients data folder location:
c:
cd \Lotus\Notes
start notes.exe -RPARAMS -clearPersistedState
Note:
Our workstations are in-place VMs that have been upgraded since XP days. We kept the old folder path structure.
Your path is more likely:
c:\Program Files\HCL\Notes\Data\workspace
or
c:\Program Files(x86)\IBM\Notes\Data\workspace
